Our Aims and Objectives
It is our vision to have a strong and vibrant Association that shall make life in retirement worthwhile and stress free for all its members.
SPA Lagos has an executive committee headed by a Chairman, whose aims include:

(i)

Maintaining a formally recognized body through which SHELL pensioners shall continue to relate with their former employers.
|

(ii)
|
Keeping abreast of developments in Shell with a view to continuing to assist, as may be appropriate, promote and enhance the good image of the Companies.
|

(iii)
|
Encouraging and sustaining continued comradeship and fraternity amongst SHELL PENSIONERS and their counterpart in other Oil and Gas Companies.
|
|
(iv)
|
Enabling members to retain contact with Shell colleagues and to keep alive their natural interest in Shell after retirement.
|
|
(v)
|
Providing an effective channel of communication between members and Shell.
|
|
(vi)
|
Improving quality of life and social wellbeing of retirees.
|
The executive committee is made of 11 members comprising of the following – The Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Assistant Financial Secretary, Welfare Officer, PRO and two Ex- Officio members. General Meeting
SPA Lagos holds their monthly meeting every last Thursday of the month at the Eagle Club, Adeniran Ogunsanya Street Surulere at 12noon.
Our meeting is fun-filled and stress free with the discussions always on general wellbeing of our members.

SPAL Life Insurance
SPAL maintains Group life insurance with a foremost insurance company in Nigeria – Tangerine Life Insurance Limited.
Each member is expected to pay a yearly premium of N9,500 per year. The insurance is also extended to the spouse for the same premium price.
The company guarantee benefits upon demise of insured person. Members and their spouses are encouraged to take this life insurance policy.
Pensioner Day’s Event
Every pensioner looks forward to the annual pensioners day which is a social event celebrated at the end of year. It is a thanksgiving event with all the fun-fare. It is a reminder of the number of years we have spent after leaving SHELL.

Corporate Social Responsibilities
SPA Lagos recognises the need to support our immediate environment, hence it set up Children Educational Foundation to support the education of our families who have become indigent as a result of circumstances beyond their control.
Children Educational Foundation is governed by Board of Trustee (BoT).
SPAL supports the foundation with an annual subvention.
